FAQ
What file formats does Attention Dome support?
EPUB, PDF, plain text (.txt), HTML (.html / .htm), and Markdown (.md).
Tap + in the library and pick from the iOS Files browser. You can import from iCloud Drive, On My iPhone, Downloads, Google Drive, Dropbox, or any provider you’ve installed. The file is copied into the app and the original stays where you put it.
Can I read my Kindle books?
Not directly. Amazon’s .azw3, .mobi, and .kfx formats are owned by Amazon and protected by their DRM — Apple’s App Store rules don’t allow third-party apps to decrypt them.
The standard workaround Kindle readers use across every third-party iOS reader:
- Install Calibre on your Mac or PC (free, open source).
- Drag your Kindle book into Calibre.
- Right-click → Convert books → Output format: EPUB.
- AirDrop / iCloud the resulting
.epubto your iPhone. - Open Attention Dome → + → pick the EPUB.
Calibre handles .azw3, .mobi, .fb2, and a few others — anything it can read, it can convert.
Can I read Apple Books or Audible content?
No. Apple Books uses standard EPUB but applies FairPlay DRM that only Apple Books can decrypt. Audible is audiobook content (audio, not text) and uses Amazon DRM. Neither can be read in third-party apps without violating the terms you agreed to when buying.
If you have DRM-free EPUBs (e.g., from Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, Smashwords, or self-published authors who skip DRM), they import fine.
Where can I get free, DRM-free books?
- Standard Ebooks — beautifully typeset public-domain classics.
- Project Gutenberg — 70,000+ free EPUBs and texts.
- Open Library — Internet Archive’s lending library.
- Manybooks — curated free ebooks.
Does Attention Dome work offline?
Yes. Once a book is imported, no internet connection is needed for anything — reading, narration, all five modes work offline.
Where do my books live?
Inside the app’s private storage on your iPhone. Deleting Attention Dome wipes everything. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — no accounts, no sync, no backups (yet).
Does Attention Dome collect any data?
No. See the Privacy Policy.
